Robin Gilmartin, Mindful Yoga Therapy for Veterans facultyRobin Gilmartin is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in treatment of anxiety disorders and PTSD. She’s worked with veterans at the Newington and West Haven Connecticut VA hospitals for 18 years. Robin was Director of the PTSD Residential Treatment Program for 9 years, a program of national prominence that serves men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

In early 2013, she opened a general psychotherapy practice in West Hartford while also continuing to work with veterans and their families through Connecticut’s Military Support Program.

Robin is a graduate of Smith College School for Social Work and has published and presented on topics ranging from personal narratives of the mentally ill, meaning-focused treatment for PTSD, and use of complementary therapies such as yoga and volunteer work in treating veterans with PTSD. She has been adjunct faculty at Smith College School for Social Work, University of Connecticut and Springfield College and enjoys training clinicians.

Robin is a founding board member of A Hand Up, Inc., a non-profit that assists homeless individuals and families transition from shelters to independent living.
