Lake is a student and teacher of yoga. She received her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Sacred Rivers Yoga in Glastonbury in 2016. She has been teaching for one year and practicing regularly for eight. She has a passion for focused and deliberate movement. Along with yoga, Lake trains in several styles of martial arts, parkour, gymnastics and contortion. Lake is very athletic, but doesn’t think that is a prerequisite to yoga practice.
Lakes goal as a teacher is to make her classes as accessible and welcoming as possible.
She recognizes people all have unique bodies and personal goals. Her style can adapt easily to meet the needs of the individual student, but the central theme of her teachings is always self-inquiry and awareness. Lake is a follower of the eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga as outlined by Patanjali in The Yoga Sutras. She feels there is more to a yoga practice than asana alone. She hopes to inspire her students to meditate more often and develop gratitude…which she believes is the route to a happy life.
