Breath and Balancing the Nervous System
The breath is where everything begins. Connection with the breath is the backbone of any yoga practice and may be the most important gift that you can give yourself.
There are many ways to use the breath, and breath can be a bridge between the body and mind. Breathing techniques can cleanse, calm, strengthen, and tone the nervous system, and thus increase vitality. They are commonly used for anxiety management techniques and may be used as a tool to cultivate greater mental control over our emotions and our reactions to them.
