This retreat, designed specifically for veterans and their spouses or partners, teaches powerful mind-body practices that strengthen resilience, bring peace of mind and relieve traumatic symptoms. Participants will learn practical yoga and mindfulness based tools that decrease the stress, anxiety, and sleep problems that many returning veterans experience. A mindful, embodied yoga practice can provide relief from these symptoms and develop the supportive skills that veterans need in their every day lives. The retreats will employ clinically tested yoga and meditation therapies geared towards veterans that were developed by CT yoga teacher Suzanne Manafort and VA therapist Robin Gilmartin, LCSW. Combined, these two dynamic women have decades of experiences working with veterans and their families to deliver programs that veterans can use to come with post traumatic stress and lead a life of strength and resilience.
